Introduction
Every born-again has gone through a complete inner change or transformation, this is true because Jesus the Christ who is the author of all true change and transformation has cleansed them with His precious Blood - (Hebrews 9:28). But the ability to stay in His continual communion, the Holy Spirit must be available in the life of that individual.
Jesus said, "flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to Spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying…" John3:6,7
The most important presence God wants believers to have is His presence, which is the person of the Holy Spirit. This is the authority that gives you the believer the authomatic spirituality the moment you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour.
See this "John 1:12-13
But some people did accept him. They believed in him, and he gave them the right to become children of God.
They became God’s children, but not in the way babies are usually born. It was not because of any human desire or plan. They were born from God himself.
This little book will help you understand why the Holy Spirit ought not to be taken away from you as a born-again. And as kingdom citizen, you need the presence of the Holy Spirit to be alive in this world of uncertainty. Enjoy God through His Holy Spirit.

Responding to these questions about the Holy Spirit and understanding His purpose here on earth will lead you to get the clear picture of "why" David will cry out to God not to take the Holy Spirit.
Without any apologize I will say, to a great extent, most believers. (Baptized Christians) thinks and works with this mindset, that the Holy Spirit is but a force. He is that force that possess, pushes and strangle people in the revival grounds and in churches, just to show the power of God.
It is true that God works in mysterious ways, and can do all things but the Bible taught me that, whenever the Holy Spirit comes on a man or woman He empowered that individual to do or perform his given assignment to bring glory to God and not by rolling them on the floor. I have learnt that it's only demon that flog people to the ground and make them suffocate. Check this Luke 9:38,39,42
It's not a news that, the Holy Spirit is one of the most neglected and misunderstood person of the Triune God in our dispensation I meant christiandom. Many see Him as a thing and also lack faith in His ability to work in us and with us in our simple daily lives. We see Him as a tool to make our prayers louder and noisier. We see Him as a plugin, a drive, a push and a tongue twister for the show of speaking mysteries (tongues). Is this who the Holy Spirit to you?
CHAPTER 2
Who is the Holy Spirit?
The Holy Spirit is God's presence performing God's plan here on earth. He is the empowerment the believer receives to live in the plan of God here on earth. Note, whenever God wants to do a remarkable, significant, powerful, wonderful and thought provoking things on earth, He the HOLY SPIRIT must be there to sent things right. Just take a picture of the following;
The season God created the world...Genesis 1:2-3
the earth was completely empty. There was nothing on the earth. Darkness covered the ocean, and God’s Spirit moved over the water. Then God said, “Let there be light!” And light began to shine.
The season God fulfill His promise of the arrival of the Redeemer...Luke 1:34-35
Mary said to the angel, “How will this happen? I am still a virgin.” The angel said to Mary, “The Holy Spirit will come to you, and the power of the Most High God will cover you. The baby will be holy and will be called the Son of God.
The day the Redeemer was empowered to manifest His assignment on earth … Luke 3:21-22
When all the people were being baptized, Jesus came and was baptized too. And while he was praying, the sky opened, and the Holy Spirit came down on him. The Spirit looked like a real dove. Then a voice came from heaven and said, “You are my Son, the one I love. I am very pleased with you.”
The day of the outpouring of the unending presence of God... Acts 2:1-4
When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a noise came from heaven. It sounded like a strong wind blowing. This noise filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw something that looked like flames of fire. The flames were separated and stood over each person there. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they began to speak different languages. The Holy Spirit was giving them the power to do this.
Until God's Spirit moves He does nothing, this is the reason His presence is what makes the plan of God to work here on earth. Is He in you?
CHAPTER 3
What is His purpose to the Church and Humanities?
To fulfill God plan for those who have identified themselves with Christ as well as to convict mankind, do remember, God said these words, "My Spirit can no longer contend with the human race…" Gen. 6:2-7. The Message Translation puts it this way, " I'm not going to breath life into men and women endlessly…" Gen. 6:3. Reading through verses two to seven, the scripture shows clear evidence that right living (righteousness) was far from the humankind. This is so because man has left God's presence. The Bible said,
So the Lord God forced the man out of the Garden of Eden to work the ground he was made from. God forced the man to leave the garden. Then he put Cherub angels and a sword of fire at the entrance to the garden to protect it. The sword flashed around and around, guarding the way to the tree of life." - Gen. 3:24.
This is why man could die, and already we are all dead because of the sin of our father Adam. In the garden there is life, in the garden there are pleasures, in the garden there is protection and prosperity, there in the garden there is God's kind of life. The only way we can truly live God's kind of life is through the presence of the Holy Spirit.
The purpose of the Holy Spirit is to teach mankind the true life as God planned man to live. From Jesus Christ proceeded this saying, the promise the Father made long ago will come... - (Luke 24:49), and when He comes, He (the Holy Spirit) will teach you and remind you… He will be with you and in you. (John 14:26, John 16:12-14). His is occupy, influence and empower the church (every born-again) to fulfill God's plans in their lives, families communities and the world at large. Can His purpose be fulfilled in your life?
CHAPTER 4
Why do we need Him in our physical body?
Let me inform you with this truth, although it may sound difficult to believe but it's the truth; Jesus would not have successfully fulfilled His ministry here on earth without the presence of the Holy Spirit with Him and in Him. (1) He was conceived and born via the influence of the Holy Spirit ---- Luke 1:34,35
"Mary said to the angel, “How will this happen? I am still a virgin.”
The angel said to Mary, “The Holy Spirit will come to you, and the power of the Most High God will cover you. The baby will be holy and will be called the Son of God."
(2) He was set apart for service by the power of the Holy Spirit. --- Luke 3:21,22
"When all the people were being baptized, Jesus came and was baptized too. And while he was praying, the sky opened, and the Holy Spirit came down on him. The Spirit looked like a real dove. Then a voice came from heaven and said, “You are my Son, the one I love. I am very pleased with you.”
3. He was duty bond in the presence of the Holy Spirit Luke 4:18
“The Spirit of the Lord is on me.
He has chosen me to tell good news to the poor.
He sent me to tell prisoners that they are free
and to tell the blind that they can see again.
He sent me to free those who have been treated badly
This is the reason behind Jesus' statement " you must be born-again… being born-again makes you a true spirit child and experience the power thereof (John 3:3,5,6; 1:12-14)
The Holy Spirit will influence your mind as believer to be more like Christ Jesus. Note, all of our pursuit is to be like Christ, being the author and finisher of our faith.
He reveals mysteries through you the believer, by teaching you, guiding you and correcting you whenever you are going wrong.
He is to give you peace as a believer, with the understanding that the world we are in is full of frustration.
CHAPTER 5
Understanding the prayer of David; do not take the Holy Spirit
From the first three chapters we have been trying to understand the three questions before us, and I will want you to broaden your understanding concerning the person of the Holy Spirit and the reason He ought not to leave us, depart from us or taken away from us.
David in his encounter cried out to God, that He (The Holy Spirit) should not be taken away from him. In Psalm 51:11.
If you are you not born-again what I am about to say may sound strange to you. You might even stop reading this book. But I want to boldly say that, the Bible the Christians uses is an open house, you go in at anytime to find the truth.
Hear this; the Bible said, David had sexual sin with a married woman after he had peeped her from the top of his roof while she was having her bath. The sin led to the murder of her husband, the woman named Bathsheba and her husband Uriah. This account is loaded in 2 Samuel 11 and 12. The Bible said, "Bathsheba heard that her husband Uriah had died, so she mourned for him. After her time of sadness, David sent servants to bring her to his house. She became David’s wife and gave birth to a son for David. But the Lord did not like what David had done." -2 Samuel 11:26-27
The action David took to gratify his immediate fleshly need made God to be displeased with him. Note this, David was not just a king, he also serves as a Priest. Now in God's displeasure He called prophet Nathan to rebuke David. When Nathan met him he presented to him what God said thus,
Then Nathan said to David, “You are that rich man! This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: ‘I chose you to be the king of Israel. I saved you from Saul. I let you take his family and his wives, and I made you king of Israel and Judah. As if that had not been enough, I would have given you more and more.
So why did you ignore my command? Why did you do what I say is wrong? You let the Ammonites kill Uriah the Hittite, and you took his wife. It is as if you yourself killed Uriah in war. So your family will never have peace! When you took Uriah’s wife, you showed that you did not respect me.’
“This is what the Lord says: ‘I am bringing trouble against you. This trouble will come from your own family. I will take your wives from you and give them to someone who is very close to you. He will have sexual relations with your wives, and everyone will know it!You had sexual relations with Bathsheba in secret, but I will punish you so that all the people of Israel can see it.’”
]Then David said to Nathan, “I have sinned against the Lord.”
Nathan said to David, “The Lord will forgive you, even for this sin. You will not die. But you did things that made the Lord’s enemies lose their respect for him, so your new baby son will die.”-2 Samuel 12:7-14
After the visit of prophet Nathan, David began to plead with the LORD for the life of that baby, he fasted and prayed for himself. It was on this stance he made this Psalm recorded in the classic Psalm 51:1-19.
In David's prayer, the most striking thing anyone ought not to do without is the presence of the Holy Spirit, He said, God, create a pure heart in me, and make my spirit strong again. Don’t push me away
or take your Holy Spirit from me." - Psalms 51:10-11
Note: from the beginning what brought death to humanity was disobedience and this led to the taken away of humans from Eden to the ground. Genesis 3:24 …So the Lord God forced the man out of the Garden of Eden to work the ground he was made from… from the absence of God's presence humanity become limited, and our desires become unworthy and unholy.
According to David, if God pushes him away or takes away the Holy Spirit from him, he will be worse. Knowing he was conceived through sin, born by sinners, living among sinners and in a sinful world.
The truth is,the world does not know how to live right, all humans know how to do is evil and this is why the world is filled with evil acts and it's rising everyday. It is He the Holy Spirit that teaches humanity how to live right. Jesus said, "the Spirit of truth will teach you and will guide you into all truth… John 14:26 and again Jesus said,
"But when the Spirit of truth comes, he will lead you into all truth. He will not speak his own words. He will speak only what he hears and will tell you what will happen in the future. The Spirit of truth will bring glory to me by telling you what he receives from me.. -John 16:13,14. Are learning from Him?
CHAPTER 6
The reason the Holy Spirit ought to be in you and with you.
The concept of world and the LORD hardly work together, the world derives joy in working against the LORD. So the LORD is calling out to those who are willing and obedient to do His will. Mind you, every born-again has been given the nature of Christ who is the LORD HIMSELF and the only way to live in the world successfully, is to work in the Holy Spirit.
Jesus proved that as long as an individual comes to Him, the world will hate him or her. Get this clear; "If the world hates you, remember that they hated me first. If you belonged to the world, the world would love you as it loves its own people. But I have chosen you to be different from those in the world. So you don’t belong to the world, and that is why the world hates you." -John 15:18-19
He went to say, " The truth is, you will cry and be sad, but the world will be happy. You will be sad, but then your sadness will change to happiness. The Father himself loves you because you have loved me. And he loves you because you have believed that I came from God." - John 16:20,27
The reason is that you are not of this world anymore, and the only way you can be able to live without sin in this world is through the person of the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit is present here and will forever remain with the believer in Jesus Christ until Jesus Himself return to establish His promised eternity.
Jesus said,"But the Holy Spirit will come on you and give you power… - Acts 1:8. Indeed the power is here, He has not left the earth, with Him you can speak truth with complete boldness, you can live righteously without any shame, you confront evil powers by the Holy Spirit, you can know the future without a human mediator and you can change people's lives by the word of God.
With the presence of the Holy Spirit you because more and more aware of God's will and plans for you and those around you. He is in you to manifest God's grace and to rule the earth.
We all need the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives to grow into the Kingdom lifestyle.
